WOO HOO 500 posts! Celebrating with The Gorgeous Royal

WOO HOO this is our 500 Post!!!  So how about a little giveaway I have a copic compendium Volume 3 from Mad for Markers to giveaway to a lucky commentator on this post, you have until 1st August to enter, I will announce the winner in my next post.

Hi all, Hope you and your families are all well.
Today for my inspiration I have used the gorgeous Royal from Some Odd Girl available from the store here, she comes with a crown, sentiment and banner stamp all of which I have used.
I had a lots of fun creating this card, tried a few new things to me, including lots of pearls and flowers.

I stamped Royal using Lulu Lavender Memento, then I outlined her dress with my new Multiliner 0.3 PURPLE (a wonderful gift from a lovely friend, thankyou). I thought it would be fun to have pink hair with added pearls (like those fancy pins you get for your hair), I slit her hair to place the crown coloured with spicas and added special effects. I also used the sepia multiliner to outline some of the face and black multiliner to the eyes and lashes (which were a fiddle to cut round lol). Sprayed her with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer mist. Added pearls to the birds and flowers.

The banner was stamped with Lulu Lavender Momento ink and black memento for the sentiment.
One of my first tries at crocheting a flower, the pearl flower and butterfly are made using a template.

Copics, spicas, multiliners used as well as a huge selection of stamps, papers, digi images are all available from our Mad for Markers Store

Skin/Face - E000, E00, E01, E11, R20, E33, E37, multi liner Black and Sepia, Spica Lavender
Hair - RV10, RV11, RV13, RV14
Dress - V01, V12, V15, V17 and the new multiliner Purple (part of the brights set available here)
AND the colourless blender for correction and to blend out some of the colour in the dress and hair
BV08 and RV14 to colour some of the cream half pearls to match.

We would love to see your creations in our Mad for Markers Colour Challenge to use either B, BG or BV or all if you wish.

Thank you for stopping by, happy crafting and have a lovely weekend, take careX:)

Pretty in Pink!

Ok So not too sure if I have said this before, but I LOVE PINK lol! So it's not too hard to believe that my next Smash page in my Copic Color Journal is another Pink Combo page! Can you ever have enough Pink Combo's! I think my favourite is the hot Pink Hair with the soft pink top.

All of my colored images in my Smash Book are colored using my Sketch Markers on Xpress It Blending card.

If you don't have a Copic Color Journal I strongly suggest that you get one to keep all your color combos in, it doesn't have to be all nice and pretty, it can be just colors jotted down in a note book. But just having those notes to go over when you are trying to remember that color combo you tried last month and really loved, makes it that much easier. If you have one I would love to see it, leave me a link in the comments as I would love to have a look!

Tuesdays tips

Hello everyone! No tutorial to share today ... but a couple of tips from me... I have done up a little journal page to show you the difference in colouring the same image.. from a basic approach to a more advanced approach! I've used my new Birthday Mae stamp.. another gorgeous image drawn by Kristy Dalman of Some Odd Girl Stamps! This beauty is now available in the M4M store HERE!

So anyway... my tip is (as I have said before) that it's a great idea to keep a journal of the colours you like on an image... This goes one step further and shows the different levels of colouring the same image..

My Beginner approach is using only one colour/ marker for each colour on the image... some level of shading created from layering the one colour on top of itself.

My Intermediate approach is using a number of (2-3) colours within a colour family (eg. E31, E33, E35) to create more depth in the shading.

Mu advanced approach is using markers from a 'higher' colour family in order to create more contrast in the shading which creates much more depth and thus more interest and the image has more dimension.
