Less is more, more or less!

Last weekend was the Mad For Markers Copic Colour Conference and the new Faeries digis from M4M were previewed. This one is Lily Rose:

They're now available for purchase in the store. Isn't she cute!?!
I tried to do minimalist colouring on her. I found it really challenging but I think she turned out ok.
I did have a little difficulty photographing her as there was so much white, but I think you get the idea...

BV00, RV02 (spots)
BV000 (eyes) with BV13, BV17 (dress)
E000, E00 (skin)
Y11 (hair) with Y000 (mushroom)
RV10 (wings)
and lots and lots of the Colourless Blender (0) for dress, hair and wings.

Top Tip: I make sure I have plenty of 0 in my supply by getting the 200cc bottle that way I don't go through as many of the normal size re-inkers (25cc) and I don't have to worry about running out as often :-)

Did you miss out on Mad for Markers Copic Colour Conference 2012?
Don't worry you can learn many of the techniques through the Mad For Markers Online Copic Club!

Pretty in Pink!

Ok So not too sure if I have said this before, but I LOVE PINK lol! So it's not too hard to believe that my next Smash page in my Copic Color Journal is another Pink Combo page! Can you ever have enough Pink Combo's! I think my favourite is the hot Pink Hair with the soft pink top.

All of my colored images in my Smash Book are colored using my Sketch Markers on Xpress It Blending card.

If you don't have a Copic Color Journal I strongly suggest that you get one to keep all your color combos in, it doesn't have to be all nice and pretty, it can be just colors jotted down in a note book. But just having those notes to go over when you are trying to remember that color combo you tried last month and really loved, makes it that much easier. If you have one I would love to see it, leave me a link in the comments as I would love to have a look!

Copic Color Combo's Journal

I have been writing Copic color combo's down here, there and everywhere, but of course I could never find what I had done with the pieces of paper. So, I have started to keep a Copic Journal of color combo's I like. The hope is that eventually it is nice and full and when I am looking for some color combos I can just flick through my book and there I will find the color combo I am looking for.

Here is my first page in my Copic Color Journal. Of course I have done Red Hair Combos first, I do have a house full of red heads, including myself, So thought this was the perfect first page!

We would love to hear how you keep all your Copic Color Combo's. Do you have pages here, there and everywhere or do you have some sort of system going?

I will make sure to show you my next page when it is done.

Happy Colouring! Oh and for those people who are after the new 2012 Copic Sketch Colors I have it on very good authority that they have arrived in the store today, so make sure to head over to the M4M store and get yours!

Something new...

Good morning Copic lovers, Rachael here for today's post. After some nice celebrations yesterday to celebrate Australia Day, the weather has turned completely miserable, but it is the perfect colouring weather. With the current challenge over on the Mad For Markers Challenge blog, I decided to challenge myself too and try a couple of different colour combinations. My Mad For Markers Copic Journal is just perfect to trying new colour combinations and also a great place to keep a list of new colour combinations I may stumble across blog hopping. Today I'm sharing two new combinations, one for blonde hair and one for skin. I'm really loving the blonde hair colour combo... think I will be using this one again.
I hope that I have inspired you to give it a go, if I have leave a comment and I will pop on over to your blog and check it out.
Till next time, happy colouring
Rach xo
