This design was kept simple, red, green and has the focal point of the candle. I wanted to capture a simple focal point towards the candle and keep the card elegant and raw. This is only the beginning to more designing I am extremely excited"

NEW Digi DT

Good morning :) I'm excited to announce that things will be popping up here more frequently again ... I have been DRAWING and am hoping to have lots of images to colour. We have some new designers on the team and are getting organised with regular posting dates...  our first lot of NEW images coming Monday.... OK you might have already caught a sneak here and there (like in the header ;)

Now let's meet our new DT members....

I was born in the Netherlands...but since 1996 Italy has become my second home.

Now I am a SAHM of twins and happy wife, we live in the country side of Rome.

As little kid I used to draw and "copy" images, later I have found out stamps.

My little green cuttlebug came into my life about 8 years ago  and I did not stop using it ever since.

Now I am quite addicted to making cards and other crafty things, you could say it is my unpaid full-time job. Find out more at Blankina's blog!

I have been scrapbooking for about 7-8 years. It started out as a hobby and then became a passion. About 4 years ago I really begin to fell in love with paper crafting and I started learning new techniques & doing more research on this craft. I began card making and I love it now that I make cards more then I scrapbook. With cards came my love of stamps & coloring. I love bringing joy and inspiring others around me with my cards. Crafting, allows me to just be me. God has blessed me with this talent & I plan on sharing it with the world. I'm a social worker by day and a crafter for life. My husband and I have a beautiful lil girl. She keeps me on my toes. I'm excited to be designing for Mad for Markers. My blog is HERE!

Truffle purse

What a sad post this is. My term is now up at Mad for Markers, so this will be my last post for Sammi. I have enjoyed my time on the Design Team immensely, but all good things must come to an end.. so thanks Sammi for believing in my copic colouring enough to want me on your fab team, and good luck to the new DT ladies....

Right so onto my project... last week and this week the DT have shown you their "anything but a card project" now its my turn... so I have decided in keeping with the Christmas theme that I seem to be doing a lot of lately, that I would do this little purse... which closer to Christmas I am going to fill with homemade lime and coconut truffles. I have used a Bildmalarna image, flowers and charms.. all which can be found at Debs Creations.

Pollycraft Fairy

Morning, Tracy here! I decided to hunt through my digi images that I have been (impulse) buying over the last year and pluck one out, print it and make a card.
I am ashamed to say... and I probably aren't the only one out there (you know who you are!! LOL), that have a hoard of digi images in which have never been used!

Forest Elf

Isn't this little forest elf cute? Tracey who's on this DT and is owns Spesch Designer Stamps sent her to me, she also has so many other wonderful digital stamps to choose from. I must say this card is not the normal colourings I go for, so was really happy how it turned out, very natural.... I also sprayed it with shimmer mist, but the camera didn't pick it up.

ATC Inky Lili

Hi all, Annette here today and our challenge at Mad for Markers this fortnight is to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card) measuring 3.5" x 2.5", now don't be put off by the size, these are fun to make, just learn from my lesson though, make sure your image fits on that size of card before you colour lol!

Now I have used Inky Impressions Lili's secret, coloured her with Copics, isn't she just cute look at her FRV1 (Flourescent Pink) coloured nails with a little special effects added (just a little fiddly lol). Also used special effects on those gorgeous blue eyes, shoes, hair band and flowers. Used Kindyglitz on these gorgeous flowers and as you can see got carried away so fairly sparkly lol! Just might of overdone it a little hehe).

Swing card!!!

Hi, it's Tracy here, and it's my turn at Mad for Markers blog to post a card. I found this image while cruising around in cyber world and decided to make a swing card! Yep I had the patience to cut her out and yes she really does swing! I do hope you will join us for our new challenge set next week. Get it??? Oh well, for those of you that are a bit confused by my sense of humour...
This fortnights challenge is to colour on something other than paper..EEKKK. Lucky for me my new Whiff of Joy "Unwell" stamps arrived... so yep, I inked one up and stamped on tissue paper. Next I layed coloured tissue on candle and wrapped wax paper around and scrunched at back so I could have a good hold on it while I heat gunned the front to get the tissue to melt into the candle! Its really that easy, and a nice pressie for someone who isn't feeling the best if its a scented candle.

Something Other Than Paper - Childs Singlet

I had lots of fun with this challenge. As you can see I have stamped on one of Jodies singlets and coloured with copics. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then heat set it using my iron. I coloured the image with Copics but I didn't go as close to the black line as I normally would because the colour bleeds slightly, as you can see on the mouses head. I then heat set the image again once I had finished colouring the image.

Unfortunately my model was unavailable at the time of publishing this post to be photographed in her newly accessorised singlet but I will see if I can sneak a photo in later.

Tutorial - Black Hair

Hello ladies, this is my very first post for Mad for Markers, and would you believe my very first tutorial.. nothing like jumping right in there boots and all! Let me just say that first off I am not Copic Certified like some of these lucky ladies here, this is just showing you how like to colour black hair.

Right so here we go... I tend to work from lightest to darkest. I have 6 images that show you the progression. First I colour with C0 for the highlights then work through to the darker shades - C2, C3, C6, and finally C8.

In the last image I have gone over the whole hair image using C0, to blend it all in together.

Sometimes I tend to add a hint of blue to the lightest colour to give it extra shine.

So... how painless was that? Hopefully this is off some help to someone who is just starting out in the copic world

Tutorial - Copics with Shimmering H2Os

Today I would like to share how I use Shimmering H2Os with my copics for adding highlight and shine.
This is just my technique and I am not copic certified but I like doing it this way, it works and it is simple.
First I colour my image as I normally would then I choose my H2O colour, I usually choose a colour that is the same colour but is lighter than my lightest copic colour I want to paint over.

Using an Aquabrush, I paint from the darkest shade on my image to the lightest in sections. This is because when you first dip your brush in the H2o pottle the colour is darker then lightens as you use your brush. (Just like normal watercolours)

As you can see you get a gorgeous shimmer on your image but still retain the original colour, shading and blending.

Challenge 2 - An Explosion of Red Violets!

Whoop Whoop, welcome to the WEEKEND!!!! Hope you all have some great things planned along with some well earned crafty time.
