Girl with Freezie card

Good afternoon! It's HOT here!!! And after just walking to the post office and back I decided to get a Slurpee from the 7/11 ... aka a Freezie ... perfect day to share this summery card that Rose made with our Girl with Freezie image.

We are giving her away for free this month on our facebook group ... the only catch is... you have to make a card and post it in the group (and wherever else you like online with a link to Mad for Markers) If you do this you will receive the following months image as well :D

Echidnas celebrating Christmas AUSSIE style

Did you know we have some new Digis in the store.. These spiky little characters have moved in and are celebrating Christmas Aussie style... Well doing what many do here in Australia... Surfing (or bodyboarding), Santa hats, Christmas trees and decorations, presents, and of course a backyard game of cricket :)

COPIC TECHNIQUE TIP - To get the textured fur look I coloured the Koala with N Greys and then used blender solution on some textured cloth, dabbing it onto the fur.

Little Witchy Taya

Good morning, Just wanted to hop on and share some Creations using Taya dressed up as a Witch... Today I have also been working on a video - colouring her.. that will be shown HERE soon.. just needs a bit of editing!! However today's versions are not your usual witchy colours... Shows you the versatility of the image I guess :)

Taya loves stories about little Witches getting into fixes and so she thought it would be fun to become a little Witch for Halloween this year.

First up.... look at this gorgeous framed Purple and Pink Witchy Taya that Emma made and gave me for my birthday last month :) So pretty don't you think!!

I then thought I would colour her up in Pink (and some purple highlights) for this simple card...

Steampunk Ryan Paper Frame!

The attraction of Steampunk is having so many texture and layers to play with and create.  As someone who can't resist texture and layers, I was delighted recently to revisit Mad for Markers Samantha's Steampunk Ryan and this time create a card with a paper frame that would make a beautiful gift.

I had to get creative with supplies for this project as I didn't have much on hand in the studio.  I didn't have a lot of Steampunk papers ..actually I didn't have any come to think of it.  I was resourceful and ventured to Etsy.com.  I bought some yummy digital paper from Victoria Designs. For the base of the card I just used Kraft colored cardstock from Michael's.  I inked the sides of all the papers using Walnut distress ink. I was really happy that I was finally able to use my Vintage epherma that I bought from The Embellished Connection.  I could see the layers building in my mind. :)

 The sentiment was from a Simon Says Stamp September card kit.  I thought it was fitting. :) The green tag was a standard shipping tag that I sprayed with Dylusions spray and then inked with various Distress inks.  I also stamped layers onto the tag to give it more texture and a grunge feel.  One of my favorite moments creating this project was using the metallic Sharpies to create the gears.   They were perfect for the job! Once gears were dried I added them onto the piece with dimensionals to make the gears pop out and add depth.

NEW Digi DT

Good morning :) I'm excited to announce that things will be popping up here more frequently again ... I have been DRAWING and am hoping to have lots of images to colour. We have some new designers on the team and are getting organised with regular posting dates...  our first lot of NEW images coming Monday.... OK you might have already caught a sneak here and there (like in the header ;)

Now let's meet our new DT members....

I was born in the Netherlands...but since 1996 Italy has become my second home.

Now I am a SAHM of twins and happy wife, we live in the country side of Rome.

As little kid I used to draw and "copy" images, later I have found out stamps.

My little green cuttlebug came into my life about 8 years ago  and I did not stop using it ever since.

Now I am quite addicted to making cards and other crafty things, you could say it is my unpaid full-time job. Find out more at Blankina's blog!

I have been scrapbooking for about 7-8 years. It started out as a hobby and then became a passion. About 4 years ago I really begin to fell in love with paper crafting and I started learning new techniques & doing more research on this craft. I began card making and I love it now that I make cards more then I scrapbook. With cards came my love of stamps & coloring. I love bringing joy and inspiring others around me with my cards. Crafting, allows me to just be me. God has blessed me with this talent & I plan on sharing it with the world. I'm a social worker by day and a crafter for life.
