Scrappin' Saturday

Well It has been a long time since I have done any scrapping... but I wanted to show you how you can incorporate Copics + Scrapping... There are 3 ways I have done so in this layout... which is based on this week's Sketch over at The Greeting farm blog.

I have used Copics on the Miss Anya stamps...although these ones are a printout of the card that we gave to Lain on her birthday .. I just wanted to include them on this layout as well so I printed out the pic of the card and cut them up.... I also have used Copics on the ribbon (BV13) and on the flowers (BV13, BV00) and I used a Copic Original marker with the fine tip to journal (V09), the extra dots on the page were drawn with a multiliner (0.5). I was a bit scared getting back into a scrapbook page after such a long break but I think I might be catching a bug here...

STAY TUNED for more SCRAPPIN' SATURDAY news coming soon at Mad for Markers.... and Don't forget to pop past THE STAMP SPOT for all your Scrapping items - to go alongside your Copics :D

***Our challenge "make and swap an ATC" continues this week! We'd love you to join us ***

More Monday ATC inspiration.

Marcia - our lovely partner from The Stamp Spot has made this gorgeous ATC to share with us!
Marcia and Sue both were able to attend Certification in Perth on the weekend (so watch out for classes in Perth soon!) and she's already putting her new skills to work here.... using vellum!

Photobucket

Marcia stamped up the angel (available from TSS) on vellum with memento ink, turned her over and coloured her up from there. Then turned it back over and stuck it onto white card with eyelets. Pretty effective isn't it!

Colours:
Wings: B01, B02, B10
Dress: R81, R83, R85
Hair: E31, E37
+ clear spica pen

now it's your turn.... You can link up your entries in the sidebar -->

The winner this challenge will be our Next Guest Designer for our next challenge :) And actually everyone is a winner this time as you will all receive an ATC back in the mail at the end of the challenge!

Colouring Brunettes - Dark -> Light

I have put together a couple of tutorials on colouring brunettes. I am not Copic Certified, this is just the way I like to colour hair in :D These are the colours I prefer at the moment:
E37, E35, E33, E31

I start with the darkest colour (E37), colouring the parts of the hair that would have the least light hitting it... the part and around the edge of the face/ neck. I like to go around the outside edge too. I leave sections in the middle for the lighter colours (and highlights).

Then take the next colour in the list (E35) and colour in small circles, over the top of the darker colour and outwards on the white.

Then move on to the next colour (E33) and do the same... colour over the colour already laid down + a bit more of the white.

then take the lightest marker (E31) and do the same again .. small circles, blending into the colour already laid down.

I then work my way back up again... adding a bit more colour to make it darker/ blend it in more. So back to the E33...

and up to the E37

It's not quite blended in as much as I'd like so I go back the other way again... This could go on for a while... I go up and down, back and forward till I'm happy with the final result. So in this case... E35

I then jump back down 2 colours to the E31

and then the blender pen to push the colour back in where I've gone outside the lines and also just to remove a little of the colour where the highlights are.... I just go over those sections with very light circles OR sometimes just a quick brush stroke across!

and Voila!! A Brunette!!

The stamp is Miss Anya from the Greeting Farm's Rain, Snow, Shine Anya. I purchased these here in Australia at the Stamp Spot :D
