Gumnut Journals

Given the erratic weather this morning I've been thankful that today was designated in my calendar as a 'Clean and Craft' day. So as I was cleaning up I remembered that I was going to share this journal page with you. This is another page of my Digi Journal featuring Kylie and Bethany Rose of the M4M Gumnut Gang and it actually makes a little sneak appearance into Copicendium vol 4. I love flipping through those mini-mags and looking at all the great colouring and ideas. Have you got your copy yet?

All the text and colour lists are written using Multiliners - perhaps that's something you could do for the M4M Multiliner challenge - hint, hint!

Less is more, more or less!

Last weekend was the Mad For Markers Copic Colour Conference and the new Faeries digis from M4M were previewed. This one is Lily Rose:

They're now available for purchase in the store. Isn't she cute!?!
I tried to do minimalist colouring on her. I found it really challenging but I think she turned out ok.
I did have a little difficulty photographing her as there was so much white, but I think you get the idea...

BV00, RV02 (spots)
BV000 (eyes) with BV13, BV17 (dress)
E000, E00 (skin)
Y11 (hair) with Y000 (mushroom)
RV10 (wings)
and lots and lots of the Colourless Blender (0) for dress, hair and wings.

Top Tip: I make sure I have plenty of 0 in my supply by getting the 200cc bottle that way I don't go through as many of the normal size re-inkers (25cc) and I don't have to worry about running out as often :-)

Did you miss out on Mad for Markers Copic Colour Conference 2012?
Don't worry you can learn many of the techniques through the Mad For Markers Online Copic Club!

xoxo Gin.

Keeping a Copic journal (+ some Friday fun)

It's a Great idea to keep a Copic journal ... a great way to keep a record of those favourite Copic combinations! Do you keep a Copic journal??

We thought we'd make it a little easier for you and have made up some little journals (just under A6 size) that you can use as a Copic journal... these are made using Xpress It blending card and have 50 sheets in them! You can now pick yours up in the store :)

I am using one as a record of all the stamps I own... so I will stamp them all (OK maybe I "might" need more than one lol) then colour them in using different colours and techniques...

Below is an example of how these pages do and will look... This was actually done on a separate sheet of Xpress It as I was demo'ing how to colour an image stamped in PALE ink using this gorgeous Sweet Thinking Mae stamp (from Some Odd Girl)

Now for the fun bit of todays post... Do you keep a Copic journal?? If so please leave a link to some piccies for us in the comments below... as it's always fun to get new ideas and see others Copic/ art journals :) You never know there might be a random gift out there for someone who shares their Copic journal ideas with us!!
